In April 2013, The European Nature Trust launched the Wild Kingdom education initiative.
The aim of the project is to provide children with an essential environmental education, teaching them the value of Romania’s incredible natural resources. Like many other countries, environmental education is currently not a standard part of the Romanian school curriculum – it should be.

Using the two mobile education units (specially designed buses) the Wild Kingdom team travels to different areas throughout rural Romania. During the school visits, a lesson is given to the students which teaches them about the importance of protecting the last untouched forests of Europe, and breaks down the barrier between man and the natural world.

To date, the Wild Kingdom buses have visited over 180 schools from 7 counties and engaged over 40,000 children. The Wild Kingdom bus project is supported by HRH, The Prince of Wales, and features in the popular Wild Carpathia documentary series, and on Romanian National television.
