Timber Festival is a festival in Derbyshire that celebrates the transformative impact of forests, through the mediums of music, art and performance.
What we’re reading:
An article in The Ecologist talks about a panel discussion on rewilding, hosted by Ian Convery and Lisa Fenton of the Centre for National Parks and Protected Areas, Andrew Weatherall representing the National School of Forestry, Steve Carver from the Wildland Research Institute and John Everitt, Chief Executive of the National Forest Company.
Why we’re sharing it:
The panelists touch on the problems, positives and potential of rewilding initiatives from around the world, but a key message is the role of connecting to nature. There’s an underlying emphasis on the importance of developing an understanding of and respect for nature that encourages individuals to support and protect it. We’re on board with that!
